So folks, we at FW have been receiving a ton of mail about our "going green" initiative. As we looked through the overwhelmingly positive comments one question seemed to keep coming up.
"You guys are a multi-million dollar corporation and I'm just one person. How can I make a difference so that my children will live to see a day that they can hunt wolves out of helicopters with laser guns?"
As I was driving down Franklin Avenue today the answer came to me, it was literally right in front of my face. Now I have seen the "THINK GLOBAL,ACT LOCAL" bumper sticker a thousand times, but i'd never really THOUGHT about it.
Let me take away all the scary "buzzwords" and "keyphrases" from that sentence and lay it out so the working man can finally understand it.
THINK GLOBAL simply means think about the planet and ACT LOCAL just means do stuff in your own town. There are so many things you can do to make YOUR community a nice beautiful place for you and your family. Here are 3 easy steps to making yourself better at caring about stuff.
1. Keep an eye open.
Now a lot of people say judging people is the wrong thing to do. They say it's superficial and close-minded. Those people are probably hiding something and maybe are even women or socialists. If we had judged people in 9/11 do you think that Al Jazeera would have even been allowed on that plane? Probably not!
AND EVEN FURTHERMORE:: Sadaam Hussein's sons would have never have been able to attend flight school with their gay indian boyfriends if we had racially profiled him. BUT NO, cnn(communist nation network) scares GOOD AMERICANS into being politically correct robots that can't stand up for their country because they're too busy with martin luther king day to recognize that their freedom's are being threatened.
2. Just say "have a good one" to people. SIMPLE.No matter where you work just say that before people walk out the door. COMMON SENSE.
3. RECYCLE. Now we talked a little bit about this before but come on. If it has a neck you can recycle it. Is it plastic? Recycle it. Is it a jean jacket? Recycle it.
That's the magic, everything, LITERALLY EVERYTHING is recyclable. People write and say "Hey FW, is blahblahblah recyclable?"
YES. It is. EVERYTHING IS RECYCLABLE. My only advice is to you is to throw every piece of garbage you have into a recycling bin or onto a garden, they both just do wonders for the environment and on top of that they look very nice. This brings to mind a poem.
"I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree"
by William Shakespeare
Who was tragically killed almost exactly 3 years to the day of writing that poem when a tree fell into his house.
How now brown cow?
Joe Meek did the whole genius record producer paranoid nutcase flipping out on everyone most of the time and talking to people from space then eventually murdering someone and then killing himself thing. It worked out pretty groovy.
